ISAT logoISAT IS CHANGING
A percentage of Common Core State Standards will be assessed and the way that the standardized test is scored will be different. Click
here for parents' frequently asked questions.

Student scores from 2013 going forward will be very different because the state has raised expectations.  Students will need to achieve higher scores to be considered as "meeting" or "exceeding" the state standards.  Click here for graphs that show most recent ISAT scores for 3rd and 8th grade students.  The graphs show actual scores from 2012 tests, and they also show how those same students would score with the new standards.

T
hese new expectations and lower scores do not mean that our students know less than they did before or are less capable than they were in previous years. Instead, ISBE is simply expecting more of students on the ISAT in order to better prepare them for the future
